Hi, I'm making a music video and want to see the audiowaveforms of the music track on the timeline. How do I do this? I'm sure it's fairly simple. Click the little arrow to the right of the small Timecode window in the timeline. This will open up a panel. Click on the waveform icon for the track you would like to see the waveform on. Hmmm, yeah, tried that and all that appears is a horizontal line throughout the clip - looks like the gain line.

If you clicked the arrow next to the timecode window and revealed the additional controls in the timeline, click on the button just to the right of the track indicator in the enhanced controls - that will turn on waveforms.

ALT clicking that will turn on waveforms for all active tracks. If for some reason that doesn't work, go to the fast hamburger menu in the timeline window and under "audio data" choose "waveform". You have to uncheck show waveforms for marked tracks as well.

Hi, apologies if this is a basic question but I'm migrating my skills from Продолжить and FCP to learn more about Avid and so I'm still at the beginners stage. That image just indicates you have an audio clip loaded in the monitor; it doesn't display the actual waveform. If you click that it will turn green and the timeline will display the track s of the clip in the source monitor. You can then turn on the source clip's waveform in the timeline.
